Chapters

Interested in starting a chapter?

The Bird Dog Society is currently in the process of establishing active chapters in Virginia and North Carolina for Bird Dog Society members as an opportunity for members to have a local impact and engagement. Once these two states are established, other state chapters will follow. We hope you will consider joining our efforts nationally as an active member, regardless of whether you wish to join us in exploring the establishment of a chapter in your state.

Chapter formation will require at least 8 active BDS members in any given state before we proceed with plans to organize chapters in that state. A short application will be required before BDS National grants a charter to the chapter being formed.

Please note that membership in BDS National is a pre-requisite for state chapter members.

Once established, state BDS chapters will generally be responsible for the following contributions:

  • Plan events and volunteer opportunities that support the BDS mission.
  • Ensure all chapter members are BDS National members.
  • Organize educational and outreach workshops, presentations, and social gatherings to support and engage the local bird dog community.
  • Coordinate with state ambassador and BDS National to identify and execute high impact projects regionally.
  • Raise funds for local projects, events, and chapter expenses and to be self-sustaining.

Operational requirements for a chartered BDS chapter will be presented in the application process. For more information, please download the application form below.
