A dog lover and deer hunter her whole life, Kristen fell into the bird dog world by accident. As a full-time outdoorsy dog photographer, she was searching for ways to keep busy during the winter and figured photographing people hunting with their beloved dogs was a good way to make that happen. (Little did she realize, that desire to make an income over the winter would turn into her spending all of that money on her own bird dog and upland gear just a few short years later.)
For a while, Kristen was content to enjoy the time in the field, learning all about the upland sport and watching others hunt with their dogs. It wasn’t until she met and photographed a 3-year-old Brittany, Lincoln, out in the field for Project Upland and Hunting Dog Confidential that she really fell in love with the breed and the sport.
Fast forward to today, she now is the proud dog mom to one of Lincoln’s offspring, Cedar, and is completely immersed in the bird dog world. Cedar earned her AKC Junior Hunter title at 9 months old and loves to hunt, run, and be outdoors. When they aren’t hunting wild birds, Kristen and Cedar spend their time paddleboarding, hiking, dock diving, and traveling. As part-time van lifers, they regularly make Dog Photo Road Trips, photographing dogs on adventures all over the US and Scotland.
